May Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Welcome to May.

This month was ushered in by a long weekend in which we hope, had allowed you to get your well-deserved rest after a month full of environmental activities in view of Earth Day held on 22nd April. It was also an exciting month as the world ratified the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, set in motion earlier in December.

Here at the Secretariat, we have been very actively working on a few initiatives on environmental sustainability with our partner organisations to bring value to our members and the sustainability community. These include the "Inaugural Green Jobs Symposium" by Young NTUC, a short lecture and movie screening on "Climate Change and Water Security" by the Canadian High Commission, and our networking session on Green Productivity.

You will find that from this newsletter onwards, us taking an extra mile to share with you, some of the interesting articles that you should read up on, as you build up your own internal capacity on CSR and sustainability. In the coming months, you will also begin to see a series of opinion pieces from us and our knowledge partners, which can be found on our website, Facebook page and member's exclusive newsflash.

We are pleased as well to share that we are ramping up our activities as we aim to help companies to begin, deepen and broaden their CSR and sustainability efforts. These activities, you will notice, will be done in the good spirit of collaboration with like-minded organisations and associations that believe strongly that businesses can be a force for good, especially towards building Singapore's future economy.

You might like to note as well that we are looking into how we can better help our members in the implementation of the SGX Sustainability Reporting, as we anticipate the announcement of the final rules and guide in the coming month.

With all these exciting activities and plans in the pipeline, we want to invite you to join us as a member and let us grow with you in your journey towards making your company one that can do good and do well.
